My name is Denise Zaneza and I am a human rights activist committed to advancing truth, justice, and democratic governance; primarily in Rwanda and across the wider Great Lakes region of Africa.
My work centers on exposing human rights violations, supporting political prisoners and independent journalists, and challenging the structural violence that drives instability.
Through articles, public commentary, and the MurakaZaneza podcast on Youtube and Spotify, I engage with experts, survivors, and activists to bring clarity and visibility to issues too often silenced or distorted by the authoritarian regime in Rwanda.

Beyond advocacy, I am deeply invested in civic education; helping young people understand their rights, their power, and their responsibility in shaping more accountable and humane societies.
It is in this spirit that the Rwanda Horizon Initiative was founded: a platform where I work with others to advance one core belief that the rule of law is essential for achieving lasting peace and prosperity in any society.
We pursue this mission through inter-Rwandan dialogue, by amplifying silenced voices, supporting political prisoners, and upholding ethical and accountable leadership.
I firmly believe that our actions and choices carry consequences that extend far beyond our lifetime, shaping our legacy and influencing the future for generations to come.
